TPS Server is installed and iPAQ VPN

Today the TPS Server was installed into the campus network.
Open Issues:
  • Meet with CNC about the TPS Server: backups, health monitoring and failure notification.
  • Setup the testing and development Web Server on the IST Server
  • Setup the FTP server on the IST Server
  • Test end-to-end connectivity of the following - campus workstations local Web development servers and the IST Server
  • Nobody is the IST 440w class offered to help with any of the work.
I installed the iPAQ VPN AnthaSoft software and got it to connect to the campus VPN
Open Issues
  • Mobile Browser doesn't open any Web pages - so I am not sure if the VPN is working
  • I am still working on building a profile of how the iPhone Cisco VPN works
  • TPS has offered to have their networking company provide help
  • Nobody in the IST 440w class has offered help or is working on the Mobile device VPN connection issues but me.

Server is ready!

The TPS Server is Ready!
  • The TPS Web Server is complete and it has everything running that we need to connect to the Web Services provided
  • The Mobile Web Server will be hosted on the PSU IST Server - I have to verify with James McGlade from PSU CNC
  • Using the IST Web Server should allow to connect remotely using the VPN
  • The backup TPS Server has also been fixed and will be available - it was a fan issue
  • All the data on the TPS Server has been cleaned
  • The firewall has been installed with open ports to the Web Services for Leads, OnBoard, GuardDog, and Ticketing

Meeting With Mike K.

Review points about the first deliverable document.
  • The document had a student prospective not a professional business engagement
  • Content needs to be less verbose - say more with less, repetitive sections
  • The total amount of pages included could be cut back in half
  • Areas that should be re-edited: Risk table and alternative solutions
  • The document needs to provide business value to TPS
  • Add a glossary of terms section - for example: COTS
Review points about the Blog content
  • Vague content in the some of the blogs - just to fill them up with content
  • Should detail how they are going to accomplish the task assigned
  • What are benefits and value each task brings to the project
  • Estimated task deliverable dates
